Rhys is an author, filmmaker, and producer from Melbourne currently based in New York. 

His producing credits include Emmy nominated King Lear starring Anthony Hopkins, Emma Thompson, and Florence Pugh for Amazon, The Undeclared War starring Simon Pegg for Peacock, The Spanish Princess and Dangerous Liaisons for Starz, and All Creatures Great & Small and Wolf Hall: The Mirror & the Light for Masterpiece on PBS.

Through his writing he is interested in examining the many nuances, beauties, and horrors of the queer experience through a heightened and genre-defying lens.

KILL BOY, which draws on his upbringing as the only queer kid in a devout Catholic family, is his first novel.

Rhys lives in Brooklyn with his husband and their cat, Archie.
